Survey Highlights

Thank you again to those community members who took the time to fill in our annual member survey in January. The West Vancouver Community Centres Society and the Community Services Staff have reviewed the survey results and would like to share with you a few of the key highlights.

This year, an impressive 539 people responded to our annual member survey and this is what we heard……

STRENGTHS TO MAINTAIN

  • 83% of you told us that the overall quality of the Centres staff are very or extremely helpful, polite, knowledgeable and responsive. We are extremely proud of this and will continue to prioritize customer service with DWV staff.

“English isn't very good and they were patient to understand what I need and I appreciate.”
  • 78% indicated that they are very or extremely satisfied with the programs being offered at the Centres.

“I swim at Swim 4 Fit and it is great! Keeps me swimming and smiling! Thank you!”
  • 71% of people feel that pass and admission costs is of high value for the experience and services provided.

    “Great value!”
  • We were incredibly impressed with the community’s perception and awareness of the West Vancouver Community Centres Society, and we continue to try and strengthen this through engagement opportunities and communication strategies.

FEEDBACK TO CONSIDER

  • Facility cleanliness issues were raised. We heard this and we want you to know that we are working with the District’s Facility and Maintenance staff teams to address these issues in a timely manner. Facility maintenance has increased the cleaning frequency of the Aquatics change rooms. Strengthened communication with community groups, Community Services staff and Facility staff have addressed cleanliness issues in a timely manner.
  • One of the themes identified was a demand for more programs that are available for working people, including both working adults and children with working parents.
  • Space constraints are an ongoing challenge during prime times with many programs identifying waitlists. In 2017, program schedules and room allocations were reviewed by staff and modified to maximize the use of existing spaces. For 2018, staff will review program times for additional program opportunities after work and on weekends.
