The Executive Committee plays an important role in the governance of the WVCCS. This Committee is comprised of the Chair, three Vice Chairs, Secretary and Treasurer. Its main role is to act for the Board on urgent matters arising between regular Board meetings, in cases where it is not practical to convene a meeting of the Board. The Executive Committee liaises, on a regular basis, with the Executive Director and provides guidance and direction to the Executive Director on pertinent and time-sensitive matters. The Committee also provides direction on Board Agendas, represents the Board at events and functions, and undertakes the evaluation of the Executive Director.
The West Vancouver Community Centre is operated under an innovative community governance partnership between the District of West Vancouver and the West Vancouver Community Centres Society, a registered charitable Society.
